Kimiko Hosaki
FOUNDER AND CREATIVE DIRECTOR
As the Founder and Creative Director of Elements Luxury Events, Kimiko brings a personal touch, attention to detail, and a deep passion for creating unforgettable events. She believes that every celebration should feel seamless, meaningful, and reflect the unique vision of the client.
Kimiko’s journey into event planning began at the age of 15, when she worked as a hostess at a local restaurant. It was there that she first learned the importance of hospitality, making people feel special, and the joy of crafting memorable experiences. Her early career path led her to become a make-up artist and skin therapist, where she worked closely with brides, often witnessing the emotional challenges that arise when things don’t go as planned. Through this, she developed a keen ability to help her clients navigate these moments and still enjoy their big day.
The inspiration behind Elements Luxury Events arose from Kimiko’s own experience with a wedding planner during her destination wedding in Hawaii, as well as her firsthand exposure to the challenges faced by couples planning their weddings while managing a wedding venue on Maui. Kimiko knew couples deserved more — attention, care, and a team who would ensure their day was flawless. By blending her creative vision with a strong understanding of logistics, she built a company focused on delivering truly bespoke, unforgettable experiences.
Kimiko’s approach to event planning is all about the client. Whether it’s a grand celebration or a more intimate gathering, she believes every event should feel personal and true to the couple. Her hands-on leadership and calm demeanor ensure that every detail is executed flawlessly, while making sure her clients feel supported and heard throughout the process. Kimiko’s ability to guide her team and navigate challenges with grace has earned her the trust and respect of the Elements clients, who know they are in good hands every step of the way.
Marissa Phelps
ASSOCIATE WEDDING PLANNER
Marissa’s love for Hawaii runs deep, with childhood summers spent visiting Kaua’i with her family. After marrying her husband, the couple made the move to Maui, where they’ve proudly called the island home for over 11 years, raising their three children in the vibrant Lahaina community.
Her journey into the world of hospitality began as an esthetician in hotel spas, where she had the privilege of pampering brides-to-be on their special day. Through these experiences, Marissa not only witnessed the emotions and challenges that come with wedding planning but also discovered her passion for the event industry. After working in catering and transitioning into the role of a wedding planner’s assistant, she found true fulfillment in helping couples navigate the planning process and bringing their visions to life.
With guidance from her original planner and further mentorship in communication and large-scale event production under Kimiko, Marissa is quickly establishing herself as a rising star in Hawaii’s wedding industry. Her natural talent, attention to detail, and unwavering enthusiasm make her a perfect fit for couples seeking a seamless and unforgettable wedding experience. From curating event timelines to ensuring every detail is executed flawlessly, Marissa is committed to making every celebration unforgettable.
When she’s not planning her next big event, you can find Marissa soaking in the breathtaking sunsets at Honolua Bay or enjoying a meal at her favorite local spots, including Japengo in Ka’anapali and Kohōla Brewery & Restaurant in Wailea.
Kate Hamre
EVENT PRODUCTION COORDINATOR
Kate's journey into the event industry is deeply rooted in her background in the alternative health field, where she developed a strong understanding of how emotions affect our physical and mental well-being. This perspective led her to the world of weddings eight years ago, where she became passionate about creating environments filled with love and celebration, knowing the positive impact they can have on both mind and body.
Through her work in the event industry, Kate also discovered the powerful connections that can be made within the extensive community of vendors and partners. She met Kimiko while managing the setup and operation of Haiku Mill and quickly found a passion for bringing Kimiko's creative vision to life.
Working together, Kate helped transform unique design concepts and breathtaking backdrops into unforgettable experiences.
Kate is known for her meticulous attention to detail, whether it’s reviewing guest lists, and layouts, or coordinating with venues to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Having called Maui home for 15 years, Kate feels grateful to live in a place that draws people in with its beauty and charm. When she's not helping couples plan their dream weddings, you'll find her hiking to the summit of Haleakalā or enjoying the exceptional Japanese cuisine at Nuka in Haiku.
